Frequently Asked Questions
We all have questions. Here's a few answers to questions often asked by parents when seeking to enroll in our program.
How can I register for the Summer Session?
You can register and purchase your child's slot right here on our website. You can call us on (718) 994-6378 to make an appointment for a site visit. To register in-person a complete application and medical sign by your childs doctor along with a non-refunable deposit of 50% to hold your child's space.
What is your masking policy at the summer session?
Nest Music strictly follows NYS Dept. of Health guidelines and all students will be asked to wear masks during transport on trips, and in any in-door areas. Staff will be asked to wear masks at all times.
What is the program's vaccination policy?
Nest Music encourages vaccinations for COVID, but will not enforce a vaccination protocol unless enforced by NYS Dept. of Health. All staff must be vaccinated fully before sessions begin.
Students are considered vaccinated by the Nest when parents provide a copy of their COVID vaccination card with their medical forms which is due before they can start the summer session. Vaccination cards are important, but students that don't take them for various reasons may attend sessions (parents must provide a letter with a reason why their child can not be vaccinated) and maybe be excluded from certain summer trips due to the venue requiring a COVID vaccination card.
What if my child was exposed to someone with COVID?
Nest Music follows New York State Department of Health guidelines. If your child is exposed and needs to be quarantined due to not being vaccinated, you must do so. Students who are vaccinated, and have their vaccination cards on file, may return to camp but must follow NYS Dept. of Health guidelines in terms of wearing a mask.
What if my child is demonstrating symptoms at camp?
A child with symptoms of coughing, sneezing, sore throat, headache, etc will not be permitted to attend the summer session. Parents will be given a home Covid test and are required to show a negative result and/or clearence from their child's doctor.
What if my child has an IEP in school?
Parents with children with IEP must make the program aware during the registration process. Failure to disclose this information may result in removal from the summer program. Our staff can review the IEP with you and discuss the needs of your child and work with you to provide real outcomes for your child's learning experience at Nest Music.
